Madame Butterfly Chouchou-san (2011)

Based on the famous opera *Madame Butterfly*, the story is set in Nagasaki in the early 1900s and tells the story of a woman who, having lost her parents at a young age, begins her apprenticeship as a geisha. When she meets a naval officer, she decides to marry him, unaware that his intentions are anything but serious and that her love is an illusion.
