During a reporting assignment in the turbulent Eastern country, Song Ran, a reporter for Liang’s satellite TV station, finds herself in danger. Fortunately, she is rescued by Li Zan, a Chinese engineer specializing in explosives who is volunteering in that very area. Li Zan’s kindness and pure heart deeply move Song Ran. As they spend time together, Li Zan also discovers that, despite her fragile appearance, Song Ran is actually brave and strong, with a heart full of justice and kindness. With shared ideals and compatible spirits, a spark of love ignites between them. However, a sudden bomb attack abruptly cuts short their budding relationship. Back in China, both go through a difficult period and even end up losing touch with one another. Li Zan is tormented by guilt over the death of his friend, who sacrificed himself to save him during the attack, while Song Ran finds herself at the center of a controversy because of a photo taken at that very moment. By chance, they meet again, and gradually, their lives return to normal. Together, they plant the seeds of the white olive tree.
