The Hayashidas are a typical Japanese family—quiet and carefree—consisting of two parents and four children, two boys and two girls. The idyll comes to an end, however, when the father dies suddenly from a heart attack: from that moment on, all sorts of problems begin to surface. In the midst of this dramatic situation, Aiko realizes she is pregnant with her late husband’s child. Her advanced age and the difficult time her family is going through cause a thousand doubts to begin tormenting her. How will she handle this pregnancy?
