My Golden Blood Rating: 6, but I was really annoyed. Spoiler alert ⚠️ It barely deserves a passing grade. The plot makes no sense. In a nutshell, a child is orphaned by a vampire, and the killer’s identity isn’t revealed until the final episodes. Throughout his childhood and up until age 20, Tong always believed he was sick, but it turns out that was all a lie—because someone had sunk their fangs into him. I’d rather not go into further detail, but I want to emphasize that trailers are often just smoke and mirrors, and the Thais are masters at creating them—only to then plunge the viewer into a mediocre story that, in my opinion, is very boring. There are several nonsensical elements; the first is that I see Tong as a rabbit who willingly stays by a wolf’s side 24/7, even when the wolf is hungry. The absurdity lies in his willingness to stay by a vampire’s side, fully aware that the vampire is—and always will be—a danger. It doesn’t matter if the vampire reassures him that he’s safe, and according to the logic of survival, humans always seek a way to survive and find refuge—but always far from danger. Especially when you discover that the methods passed down for destroying a vampire are nothing but lies. People often say, "Vampires are immortal," yet several of them die, including Thara and Naklan. So their much-vaunted immortality doesn’t exist—they can be killed. A vampire can kill another vampire, but a human cannot. Mark, the vampire, is almost always naked, with his pecs always on full display; I wonder if this technique is used to shift attention away from the plot holes and onto the protagonist’s nudity—in short, it stirs up the fans’ hormones. Tankla is the friend who was sacrificed to save Tong. A character with no real purpose—he could very well have told Tong to go to hell to gain the freedom he desires—but since he’s been brainwashed, he doesn’t think of himself. Friendship? Yes, maybe, but I have my doubts. He’s too saintly. The settings are familiar to the audience, from the house to the beachfront hotel. One thing that really bothers me is the unclear, muffled dialogue throughout the entire series, while the background music is clear and loud. The Thai language is already nasal; if it’s not clear on top of that, then many aspects of the series fall flat. In short, they need to change the sound engineers or audio technicians and improve—it’s not the first time their series have had this problem. Clichéd dialogue. Forced, hysterical laughter. A human protagonist who’s unbelievably childish, and a vampire who could have solved the problem of being discovered by casting a spell on the human and continuing to protect him. Or they could have turned Tong right from the start. The only saving grace is the female vampire, who has class, and you can tell right away that she’s hiding something. Perhaps she’s the only character worth watching. Thank you for this project
