GAYA SA PELIKULA tells the story of Karl, a 19-year-old architecture student caught in the midst of an identity crisis. His parents force him to move into his uncle’s apartment building to learn how to live on his own—a family tradition—before the start of his second semester of college. Pressed by the need to earn enough money to support himself, Karl takes on odd jobs online. But when one of his main clients suddenly disappears, he finds himself short on funds and with no way to pay his bills. An opportunity arises when his neighbor, the mysterious Vlad—whom Karl despises for being reckless—finds himself in a difficult situation: hiding from his own family, Vlad proposes that they become roommates for the rest of the semester break in exchange for rent.
