Qi Pa (Wu Xuan Yi) is a princess with a problem: one day she wakes up to find herself in what appears to be another world, a place home to a tribe whose members possess beast-like qualities. Worse still, she learns that within a week she is to become the wife of the tribe’s powerful king, Kui Mu Lang (Chen Zhe Yuan). The king’s fearsome appearance is only partly human: he has sharp, predatory teeth and pointed ears that make him resemble a wolf. The woman only sees her new "husband" at night, and he inspires nothing but fear and revulsion in her. She vows to escape, unaware that she is in fact in possession of a powerful gem that her husband desperately needs. But her attempts to leave the tribe are repeatedly thwarted, much to her frustration. The woman does not give up, but her escape plans are thrown into disarray by the presence of a charming young man (also played by Chen Zhe Yuan) named Li Xiong, who seems to appear only by day. Could there be a connection between the daytime Li Xiong and the nocturnal Kui Mu Lang? Could love perhaps be on the trail of the runaway princess?
