“Oasis” is set against the backdrop of South Korea’s turbulent times between the 1980s and 1990s. It depicts the cut-throat world, revenge and conflict faced by young people who must pursue power and wealth by any means necessary in an era rife with distorted social values. Lee Doo Hak is a young man who was born in a small town in Jeolla Province and grew up innocent yet sharp-witted. However, he is fatally caught up in a whirlwind of events and finds himself in the midst of conflict. After becoming involved with a property fraud ring, he becomes a 'political gangster' and dedicates his life to avenging his father’s unjust death.
