Hase Taiga, who has been working part-time for three years at the small restaurant "Tanomi", was once a promising young man and the star of his university’s relay team, but his past has been marred by poor athletic performance. Although he doesn’t have any particular dreams at the moment, he is beginning to feel fulfilled by his work, especially since the owner entrusted him with the task of devising new dishes for the menu. Meanwhile, Park Rin, a South Korean student specialising in animation, is immersed in her studies for her exams. Just as she is feeling relieved at having managed to hand in her project just before the deadline, she receives an eviction notice from the student halls of residence… However, for a foreigner, finding accommodation in Japan is no easy feat, and Rin finds herself exhausted, both physically and mentally. It is then that the two have a chance encounter at "Tanomi". Rin is moved by the onigiri that Taiga serves her, and her hunger and fatigue are gradually soothed. Taiga, for his part, is captivated by Rin’s smile as she eats with relish. And the moment their eyes meet, an irresistible spark flies between them.
