Na In Jung is a beautiful and talented cellist, Lee Soo Hwan an ambitious businessman, and Kang Yong Ki a reckless artist. What do these three very different personalities have in common? Love. Not the romantic kind of love that overcomes every adversity and every obstacle. No. What these three characters find themselves facing is a cruel and painful love. Na In Jung’s life is turned upside down when she meets – and falls in love with – the ambitious businessman Lee Soo Hwan. The two begin a relationship and, although Na In Jung knows that her first love is a married man, she throws caution to the wind, going against everything and everyone to save a relationship that society would find unacceptable. Lee Soo Hwan also seems willing to fight to keep this delicate relationship alive, but he soon decides to break up with her. The reason? Ambition. The man is married, and the woman he is bound to is no ordinary girl. Kang Joo Ran, in fact, is the daughter of Kang Woo Taek, Chairman of the company where Lee Soo works, and he aspires to take the place of his 'beloved" father-in-law one day. Na In Jung tries to get over her disappointment at the end of her first true love, eventually coming to accept it willingly because she is convinced it is the right punishment for having tried to ruin a family. To make matters worse, there is Kang Joo Ran, the betrayed wife – a complicated woman who refuses to be intimidated by events, hates losing, and will therefore employ every strategy at her disposal to ruin the life of the woman who nearly took her husband away from her. And so, Na In Jung finds herself in dire straits, but alongside her misery, as a consolation prize, she also meets Kang Yong Ki. A rebellious artist and the illegitimate son of Kang Woo Taek (and if two plus two equals four, it’s easy to guess that this won’t be a good thing XD), Yong Ki, who still bears the scars of a relationship that ended badly, ends up falling in love with the fragile yet self-assured In Jung, regaining faith in the very love that has all too often betrayed him. The two young people, however, both in need of a glimmer of hope to cling to, find themselves facing a cruel fate and the intrusive presence of Lee Soo Hwan, who, in the meantime, seems to realise that ambition isn’t everything and that he needs Na In Jung more than he ever imagined...
