I didn’t have high expectations, but I’ve had to change my mind – I really like this drama. The chemistry between the leads is palpable; he’s very, very handsome. I hope it isn’t just a flash in the pan.

@Isabel06 I’d recommend the comic as well – I don’t know if you can find it in Italian, but the English version is almost finished; I think there are just a couple of chapters left. The story’s coming along nicely

The comments in the subtitles are brilliant – well done to your subtitler. And tell her that if she wants, I’ll explain to her what Grandad knew ;)

I’d promised myself I’d wait until all the episodes were out, but alas, I fell for it – and now that I’ve seen the first few, I’m completely hooked. They’re brilliant. Thank you for all the work you do… your comments are hilarious – did I die laughing at ‘Lestofante’ and ‘Buzzurro’???

Thank you so much for all the work you do... the reviews are lovely, but I have to admit that from the fifth episode onwards it’s bored me a bit, so I’m going to put it on hold for now. I think the main characters are a bit too saccharine... that’s not a criticism of your work, of course. Thank you so much

I was expecting a more brutal revenge, given that, poor thing, she’s had to put up with all sorts. But I liked it. Thanks for the translation!

Believe me, it’s the right kind of revenge; the comic book explains the reason behind this revenge even more clearly.

Ty Ty^^... I had high expectations and I wasn’t let down! Absolutely brilliant! Sung Hoon was (as always) divine… erm, yes, I’m biased – I adore him. But the best bit is Do Guk’s trio of grandmother, mum and sister – they’re fantastic! Ah! I was in stitches reading the comments on the subtitles.

Absolutely brilliant!!! The chemistry between the two of them is amazing!! As for him, what can I say? Brilliant and handsome 😜 as always (though I would have asked the costume designer to do a better job with his look), but well done to everyone anyway. Thanks for translating it – I’m now reading *Matwa* with subtitles in Italian. Thanks again 🙏❤️

I’ve read the plot summary several times, but it never really grabbed me – though I have to admit I’ve changed my mind: the story between them is really lovely, full of exciting twists and turns 🤩

Sung Hoon never disappoints; the plot is interesting and he shines as always… there’s good chemistry between the leads, and the antagonists are great too – I enjoyed it. But if you want to watch a drama with explosive chemistry, you’ve got to watch *My Secret Romance* :)

I’ve just finished watching this drama, which, alas, fell a little short of my expectations… The rather unoriginal storyline, I feel, lacked a balance between the two main themes – revenge and love – with the former (in my view) overshadowing the latter…With a male lead like Sung Hoon, they could have been a bit more daring. She didn’t stir any emotions in me; I found her really one-dimensional throughout the whole drama…On a positive note, the 12 episodes… alright, I’ll give it a 6, but only for him. Thanks, guys, for the impeccable translation as always, and for the comments which at least made me smile, even though I couldn’t agree less 🤣🤣🤣

I really, really liked the way the revenge played out. I thought it would be something bloody that would change the character, but instead she retains her kind heart. Rather than revenge, you could call it true justice: cruel characters who finally face the consequences of their actions at the hands of the protagonist, and I must say I really appreciated that. Obviously, it was a bit predictable in some respects, but it still remained intriguing – the most dramatic scenes weren’t dragged out for too long, saving the drama from becoming a soap opera (I know a thing or two about that; I’ve watched every episode of *Terra Amara*). I really appreciated how the protagonists counter the antagonists' schemes – in a logical, overwhelming and often straightforward way, just as it might actually happen in real life. More than once I found myself thinking that they were all playing a game of chess. The two themes – "revenge" and romance – are, in my view, well balanced, given that viewers of this drama do not watch it (in my opinion) to see overly saccharine or romantic scenes – though these are still appreciated, given the hardships the female lead endures – and my fears, namely that the male character might hog the limelight, were unfounded, as although he had his own story too, he mainly served as an important source of emotional support for the protagonist, who had to undergo a significant journey of personal growth, without stealing the spotlight from her. There’s chemistry between the two lead actors, and they’re really good at acting (again, in my opinion). The other actors are certainly no less impressive – although, perhaps, the protagonist’s stepmother’s facial expressions were a bit over the top at times. It’s a drama that far exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something a bit classic but without too many soap-opera-style drawn-out scenes, to see justice served with class (intelligence but NOT cruelty) and an ending that brings a smile to your face.

I wanted to watch it because I was intrigued by the comic (which I haven’t read yet), and I literally fell in love with Sung Hoon! The plot is well-crafted (even if at times you feel like shaking the protagonist because of certain scenes that we Westerners wouldn’t accept) and gripping – I’d definitely recommend it!
