Overview:
Living with a neurological condition that limits his ability to see colours, Yeon Woo has grown up in a world that looks very different from the one most people are used to seeing. Able to distinguish only different shades of grey, Yeon Woo knows that the world is full of colours but has never seen them for himself. At least not until the day Yoo Han bursts into his world. As if brought together by fate, Yeon Woo’s life changed forever the day he met Yoo Han.
Smitten by the boy’s many charms, Yeon Woo is overwhelmed by the sudden surge of emotions he feels whenever Yoo Han is near. What is even more surprising is the sudden burst of colour that floods the world whenever Yoo Han enters the room. Could this be a sign that Yoo Han is her destiny? Whilst Yeon Woo ponders her fate, her aunt Yi Rang is desperately searching for her sister, who went missing years ago.

I had to watch it a second time to understand the whole story. In my view, rewatching it is precisely what’s needed to pick up on certain elements or passages that you’ve missed for one reason or another; for example, in my case, it was the entire dialogue and its meaning, which was almost incomprehensible to me, as this was one of my first BL series and I had to get used to the Korean language, with its sounds, and to the story. The story centres on two beings who, when together, are perfect, but who, on their own, are rendered incomplete and solitary by their neurological "defect". The protagonist struggles with the idea of turning into a monster, and this struggle leads him to take an extreme step. The other boy, on the other hand, hides his face to become like everyone else he sees – that is, faceless, anonymous people, like ghosts. The great thing is that the two protagonists hang out with two other lads, only one of whom seems "normal", whilst the other is in constant contact with his deceased grandfather. It’s quite a bunch. Although the masked lad is rather cute, his acting is poor; I found his voice almost devoid of inflection. Anyway, this series deserves a 7.
