Shanghai, early 20th century. Jiang Ying, a singer in a nightclub, begins a relationship with a local entertainment tycoon, Du Jing Chuan. However, no one realises that the woman, whilst pretending to be in love, is actually seeking to get close to him in order to take revenge for the harm done to her family. As she carries out her plan, Du Xun Yu, the son of her nemesis, stands in her way. He is a man who was miraculously found two years ago after he went missing. However, he too harbours secrets, for the real Du Xun Yu died a long time ago and this man merely claims to be him.
