The fox demon, Boqiu, endured a thousand years of solitude and a tormented love across nine lifetimes to break the curse that afflicted his beloved, Su Xiaohuan, and caused her to die tragically in every cycle. In this life, Su Xiaohuan met her end at the hands of Boqiu. Raised on the streets, Su Xiaohuan experienced the ups and downs of human society, surviving thanks to her bold and ruthless nature. She was later manipulated by the deposed crown prince Xuanyuan Qingchuan of the previous dynasty, who sent her to the imperial palace, placing her at the side of the notorious bloodthirsty fox demon – rumoured to be the very one against whom she sought revenge. Unexpectedly, as fate would have it, she fell in love with the fox demon once more without realising it. In this life, Boqiu chose to free herself from the bonds of fate by sacrificing herself, rather than acknowledging her beloved, so that she might love sincerely and influence the world, ultimately breaking the curse that had afflicted Su Xiaohuan.
