Zheng Shu Yi is a hard-working reporter for one of China’s leading financial newspapers. Determined to land a front-page story, she is doing everything she can to secure an interview with one of the country’s most talked-about young chief executives: Shi Yan. For his part, the businessman is seeking to make a series of investments in promising start-ups as a way of giving back to the community. A misunderstanding arises between the two and their paths cross once more. But as they get to know each other (unintentionally), they begin to realise that their destinies may be intertwined. Shi Yan discovers that Zheng Shu Yi’s extensive career in journalism means that few people know local start-ups better than she does. He agrees to let her write a series of articles about his company, ensuring that the two of them keep bumping into each other. But could this budding professional relationship also lead them down the path to love?
