This drama is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Shigematsu Kiyoshi and tells the story of a man who, after losing his wife, finds himself raising his son alone. Ichikawa Yasuo, known to everyone as Yasu, is a simple, naive man with no formal education, yet he adores his son Akira and would do anything for him—especially since he himself knows what it means to grow up without the love of one—or, in his case, both—parents.
