One rainy evening, Saeki Fumi, a 19-year-old college student, happens to meet Kanai Sarasa, a 9-year-old girl who is completely soaked from the rain, in the park. Living far from her parents and in the care of her aunt, Sarasa confesses that she no longer wants to go back to live with her. Moved by compassion, Fumi decides to take her into his apartment, and the two end up living together for the next two months.
